Brotherhood in Action, Service at Heart

Troop 96 NJ is a Scouts BSA troop based in Sayreville, New Jersey, dedicated to helping boys ages 10–18 grow into confident leaders through outdoor adventure, teamwork, and service to others. In doing so, the values of Scouting, our troop provides a welcoming environment where Scouts build lifelong skills, friendships, and character.

We proudly live by our motto:

Who We Are

Troop 96 NJ is chartered by the First Presbyterian Church of Sayreville and meets weekly in a supportive, community-focused setting. As a result, our program emphasizes hands-on learning, personal responsibility, and leadership development through real-world experiences.

Scouts in our troop learn by doing — whether that means pitching tents, leading patrols, serving the community, or supporting one another during challenges.

What We Do

At the heart of our troop is a balanced Scouting program focused on:Building confidence within the youth of the troop, Building leadership skills,Teaching valuable skills that will help the youth in the adult life’s

Outdoor Adventure

Scouts participate in regular campouts and outdoor activities that teach self-reliance, teamwork, and problem-solving, for instance. We also take part in regional competitions such as Klondike, Snuffy Hollow, and Winterburg, where Scouts test their skills in fun and challenging environments.

Community Service with Troop 96 NJ

Service is a core part of who we are. Our Sayreville-based troop encourages Scouts to give back, support local causes, and lead by example. For example, reinforcing the importance of citizenship and compassion.

A Troop for Boys Ages 10–18

Troop 96 NJ serves boys ages 10 through 18, helping them grow at every stage of their Scouting journey. Younger Scouts learn foundational outdoor and teamwork skills, while older Scouts take on leadership roles, mentor younger members, and prepare for future success both in and out of Scouting.

Leadership & Support

Troop 96 NJ is led by dedicated adult volunteers and youth leaders who work together to provide a safe, structured, and encouraging environment. Leadership opportunities allow Scouts to build confidence, communication skills, and accountability — lessons that last a lifetime.
